KU Arha

The seminar we organized with the Koç University Women Rights Club in April 2021 helped us discuss the gender roles of the people of the past by interpreting and commenting on these work areas within the context of gender by investigating and researching the archaeological findings. Our Neolithic ancestors are a great example in the Gender Equality section of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal. We, Koç University Archaeology and History of Art Club, denoted this aspect with our event.

KU Aiche

At the SustainAbility event, held online for the first time on 24-25 April 2021, we discussed sustainability issues in all areas of life. Our event addresses participants who want to preserve the balance of natural life in the world in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In our SustainAbility event, we host academicians, well-established companies, and start-ups who adopt sustainability principles and are experts in the field of sustainability. Every year, we meet these academicians or companies and in these meetings, we discuss what they do in the field of sustainability in many subjects such as mucilage, the evaluation of factory wastes, hydrogen fuels, cosmetics, agriculture, and iron and steel sectors.

This is an annual festival held in Henry Ford to celebrate our visibility and give courage to the LGBT+ individuals who do not or cannot live their identity openly. The festival is going to consist of music; an exhibition where LGBT+ artists from different universities will have a chance to display their works; a self-defense workshop in company with KU Kickbox Club; make-up workshops; and a movie screening at night. We celebrated the opening of our very first gender-neutral bathroom on the campus in order to eliminate all kinds of discrimination against trans+, nonbinary and any other people that do not fit in binary gender system in private spheres. Also during the festival, all the food served were vegan because of our environmental policies of the Queer Club.
