As a part of the University Global Coalition, Koç University organizes a sustainability week every year. The SDG Awareness Week program, which is a program full of workshops and campus- wide panels, which includes peer- learning and interactive events, also includes the opportunity to engage with international students.
Between 28 February-2 March, SDG Action & Awareness Week 2022 is organized (SDG A&A Week) as a part of University Global Coalition action plan. In total of six event is virtually organized with the coordination of the Office of International Programs (OIP) and a group of volunteer students. Total number of participants for these events, excluding the guest speakers and moderators, was 66. Total number of international participants who claimed their countries during the events was 33. Participants were from Turkey, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Brazil, Russia, England, Palestine, Egypt and Nigeria.

SKL Mindfulness Days events help students develop their skills in managing stress, increasing their concentration, and focusing on their work when needed. In previous events, we practiced some yoga postures and moves, organized mindfulness/stress management workshops, and learned techniques that promote relaxation while studying at a desk. SKL Mindfulness Days project is created by the Koc University UIF 2019 Fellows, and organized at the last week of each academic semester.
2021 event was organized by CDC in cooperation with Koç University Social Impact Forum (KUSIF) and AIChE KU (American Institute Of Chemical Engineers – Koç University).
20 speakers, 4 academicians, who are experts in different subjects, 14 brands (L’Oréal Turkey, Mazars Denge, EY Turkey, et al.) and approximately 500 audiences from all over Turkey attended the event.
On March 8, 2021, GlobalAid members held ‘Coexistence: Refugees and Cultural Heritage’ Panel with the guests Joanne Farchakh Bajjaly and Alessandra Ricci. Joanne Farchakh Bajjaly is an archaeologist and journalist who has worked from 1998 till 2013 across Middle East documenting discoveries and destruction of cultural heritage in the Middle East. She wrote the book “The Destruction of Cultural Heritage in Iraq” which won the James R. Wiseman Book Award in 2011. Furthermore, Bajjaly founded Biladi in 2005, an NGO dedicated to promote and preserve cultural heritage through training for professionals. Later on, Bajjaly collaborated with colleagues to initiate the Lebanese Committee of the Blue Shield and launched several training programs for the UNIFIL forces and professionals at the Antiquities Department in South Lebanon. The other guest Dr. Alessandra Ricci, a faculty member at Koç University Archaeology and History of Art Department, is an archaeologist from Rome who has spent decades studying Late Antique and Byzantine art and archaeology, along with the Mediterranean area shaped by Roman, Islamic and Ottoman culture. For the past ten years, as part of the Kucukyali ArkeoPark Project, she has worked to foster urban archaeology of the Byzantine period in Istanbul, community participation and inter-religious dialogue. KU Global Aid hosted the event to bring together people with humanitarian and cultural vision and to discover the potential of interdisciplinary cooperation. 38 people attended the panel.
